MAKING AN APPOINTMENT ( let us make it an easy and a pleasant experience for you!)
You are either referred to us by your doctor, insurance, a family or friend, yellow pages, or searched us online. First Step as in any office is to set up an appointment. Only New Appointments we are accepting are for Therapy.
We have three local providers in town. We are a paperless office and like to keep paper work to the minimum. We use cloud based secure electronic medical records. Once you have registered this makes it easy for your provider to treat you or to communicate with you, the staff and vice verse. For any of the clinical concerns, we prefer to use the secure e-mail set up for messaging, admin@bakersfieldpsych.com
Easy way to set up an Appointment is through our Call Center @ (661) 310-3688, even if you leave a message someone should get back to you within one working day to set up an appointment. You would need the following when you call :
1. Your insurance card
2. Reason for the appointment
3. Referral source
4. Preferably your e-mail, for appointment reminders and the easiest phone number to get
a hold of you.
5. Note pad to note down the appointment
Knowing computers will be even more helpful to you since we have a patient portal as part of EMR for you to register into and view your appointments, plan of care, and communicate with your provider securely.
We take almost ALL PRIVATE INSURANCES and CASH PAY patients. We do accept MEDICARE with SECONDARY insurance.
It is always helpful for you to CALL YOUR INSURANCE in advance and get a PRIOR AUTHORIZATION FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH VISITS in order to later avoid non payment for the SPECIALTY visits and be stuck with Bills and other collection/payment problems.
OUR COMMONLY CHARGED PATIENT VISITS for authorization are as follows:
1. Psychiatric Evaluation - CPT code for AUTHORIZATION is 90792 The 1st visit (one visit) and you only need one of this
2. Follow up - CPT code for AUTHORIZATION is 99214 The follow up visits so you need 8 to 12 visit authorization over 1 year for treatment
3. Therapy codes vary by the visit and depends on what type of therapy you will receive, individual therapy, family therapy or group therapy
Insurance can FAX the authorizations to (661) 368-0826 after your call, and we will confirm this at your visit
Our clinic DOES NOT ACCEPT MEDI-CAL ONLY or MEDICARE ONLY insurances or KERN FAMILY HEALTH.
(Medi-Care has to have a secondary insurance for us to service you).
Please also refer to our POLICY and PHILOSOPHY page to know WHAT TO EXPECT after you are an established patient
